Исследователи крепят к голове пауков-скакунов маленькие магнитики, которые удерживают их на весу. Мы сажаем их на шарики, точнее, даём шарик, за который они могут цепляться лапками, и затем следим, как они его вертят. Так мы понимаем, в какую сторону паук решает ползти. Если паук-скакун крутит шарик влево, наверное, он хочет повернуть направо, вслед за движением картинки на экране.

А это значит, что паук, вероятно, отличает цвет изображения от цвета фона. Выяснив, какие цвета распознают разные виды пауков-скакунов, исследователи смогут взяться за вопрос о том, как они это делают. Переведено и озвучено студией ВертДайдер.
