Задача устройства — предотвратить воздействие случайных вибраций, например, от землетрясения, которые могли бы случайным образом привести к пуску оружия. Одно из требований таково: устройство должно быть как можно меньше.

Этого пытались добиться привычными методами, даже брали технологии, которые используют в производстве швейцарских часов. С помощью гибких механизмов изготовили устройство из упрочненного материала.

Это замедленное видео. Устройство работает на частоте 72 Гц. То есть это отверстие может пройти два оборота в секунду.

Принцип работы таков: лазерный луч светит на колёсика. Если системе дать серию правильных команд, оно повернётся таким образом, что луч попадёт в отверстие, и только тогда процесс пойдёт дальше.
