История знает относительно успешные эксперименты, часто случайные, которые показывали, что умеренные постоянные дозы радиации снижают последующую смертность от рака. Так, у людей, живших долгое время в домах с радиоактивной арматурой и получавших по 0,5 зиверта в год, этот риск был ниже в 33 раза. То было на Тайване, но есть естественный испытательный полигон, и поближе — это Чернобыльская Зона отчуждения.

Так, обычным чернобыльским волкам в четырнадцатом году установили ошейники с GPS и дозиметра, а также взяли у них анализы эбро сц тканей. То есть можно было отслеживать их перемещения и воздействующие на них дозы радиации. В геноме волков были участки, которые повышали устойчивость их организма к раку. Конкретные мутации на данный момент не выявлены, но, скорее всего, дальнейшие исследования могли бы здесь помочь.
