Россеть от Google Graf Cast действительно показала выдающиеся результаты при прогнозировании погоды на 10 дней вперёд в локациях по всему миру. Точность её предсказаний превысила точность обычных прогнозов, которые делал Европейский Центр прогнозов погоды с помощью моделей HR на эту тему.

Есть полноценная статья в Science из почти 1.400 показателей, которыми синоптики оперируют при составлении прогнозов. Graf Cast был лучше в 90% случаев, причём по таким важным параметрам, как давление, скорость ветра, его направление, влажность на разной высоте и в том числе температура воздуха.

Что ещё интереснее, затраты на работу нейросети, если говорить об энергопотреблении, чуть ли не в 1.000 раз меньше, чем при обычном методе прогнозирования. Весь прогноз делается всего лишь за одну минуту на одном чипе TPU.

А ещё сетка лучше в предсказании экстремальных событий. Нейросеть предсказала ураган в сентябре в Канаде за 9 дней до события. А метеорологи...
