Cast Volunteer Day | Saints & Strangers

We're here with the cast and producers of Saints and Strangers, donating a couple of hours of work to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.

Here at the LA Food Bank, we distribute a million pounds of food every single week, 20% of which is fresh fruits and vegetables. We couldn't do any of that without the help of 27,000 volunteers we get every single year, including the National Geographic crew from Saints and Strangers.

We made the Thanksgiving movie, and it's all about being thankful for what you have. Unfortunately, many, many people across the United States don't have something to be thankful for at that time of the year. So if we can help even a little bit today by giving them a box of food, that can make their Thanksgiving a brighter day.

It feels really good. It's really important to get out there and volunteer because at a time in the world where people can be very selfish and there's a lot of "mimimi," it's important to recognize that you need to help people and be selfless and give back.

NatGeo has brought us all together here to make a movie, and now we're here at a food bank to put food together. We're encouraging everybody else to go to your local food bank, volunteer time, and make sure that everybody gets the food they need for Thanksgiving.

I was told that we did over fifty-five hundred pounds of food, which is over 4,500 meals. So we get almost three tons, a bunch of actors, right?
