Интереснее всего в аэродинамической трубе было посмотреть на то, как летает вода: если вылить её из кувшина, она тут же разлетается каплями размером с дождевые, диаметром примерно от половины до 4 мм.

И тогда можно испытать, каково это падать вместе с [музыка] дождём. У капель низкая конечная скорость — всего 25; именно такую выставили скорость ветра для демонстрации.

Как видите, по форме капли совсем не похожи на то, как их обычно рисуют. Скорее, это просто сферы, немного сплюснутые в нижней части: восходящим потоком воздуха слишком большие становятся плоскими, выгибаются в центре.

Так что напоминает парашют и быстро распадаются на более мелкие капли.
