[Applause] He [Applause] first time I heard the drum, I had a real calling. About to us, it's like our way of giving our blessings. My father was Kuga Iray, and then Su St Marie and Chief W. His dad was Red Thunder; he was also a chief. His name means "a wolf who chases his enemies." I was given that name because of what I see in my dreams. Co Feather, it means a short tipper spring water from their ancestors. Crazy Horse in [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause].
A lot of parents hid their children because they didn't want them to go to the boarding school. We were taught not to speak our language. Our hair was cut; we were taught not to have anything to do with our culture. Her culture had been taken away from her, so Mother wasn't able to teach us about the traditions. People are going to have to start learning how to forgive themselves for the ones who are lost. A society of abandonment; it's up to us for no. Our [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] fure [Music].
Owls to me are a way of healing or a way of our people getting together. Look at the drum as the heartbeat of Mother Earth. When you hear the drum, it signifies that relationship that we all have within ourselves, regardless of what tribe you're from. I think you do feel a sense of pride. I believe our tradition is going to come first. People are beautiful. [Applause] [Music] People.
