Толщина А23 составляет чуть более 400 м, а его площадь целых 4.000 км². Это площадь целой страны Кабо-Верде с населением почти в 600.000 человек. Она, правда, островная, целых 18 островов, но не суть. Масса айсберга оценивается в 1 триллион тонн.

В общем, этот айсберг стал самым крупным на настоящий момент. А в прошлом, конечно, были гиганты и покрупнее, да и ставили. Хотя тут надо, конечно, считать на А23.

А в своё время, кстати, была расположена Советская исследовательская станция "Дружная". Учёные говорят, что айсберг поплыл, потому что пришло его время, но он постепенно...
