Hey guys, this is Maads 101. Today, I'm going to be showing you how to download YouTube videos in high quality and putting them in the format you want.

So first, you want to go to Firefox or whatever you want to go to YouTube, and then, um, I'm just going to go to our most recent video. Okay, so if you want, you can just download it like this by following the rest of the directions. If you want it in higher quality, go to the source, go to the URL, and type in &fmt=18. I'll have this in the description of the video, so that code makes all YouTube videos in higher quality. As you can hear today, it's in much better quality.

So now to download it with Safari, you can just do something else, but it's kind of more complicated. So I'm just going to be showing you how to do this with any web browser you want.

Go to, instead of youtube.com, kissyoutube.com. It'll ask if you want to trust it 'cause Firefox is pretty safe. I'm going to say trust. It'll have the video right there, and there'll be a download button, so I'm just going to click download. Okay, and um, it should load pretty fast.

So, um, I'm just going to wait 1 minute for this to finish loading. By the way, if you enjoyed the content in our videos, um, feel free to subscribe. Don't lose anything from subscribing; all you get is tons of tech videos and how to do stuff in Photoshop, Terminal, um, Flash, Xcode. Um, if you want any requests in any kind of videos you want, feel free to request them. And yeah, so I'm just going to wait till this finishes downloading.

Okay, so now it's almost done. Okay, so now it's done, and you should have a file on your desktop called "Get YouTube" or "Get Video."

So you have several ways to do this. The first thing you can do is you can go into an app. You can get this one program; it's called VLC. It's like QuickTime, but it's less picky, so even if the video has an error, it'll let you play it; it will just tell you the error. So I'm just gonna drag that over. Wait, hold on. I’m just going to right-click and say open with other, say VLC. There, there we go, I'm going to open it with VLC.

And okay, so as you see, it lets you play. Um, we have a guest here today who's going to be a... So now, but let's you can't do much with this. The only thing is you can view it in this weird video player.

So if you want to get it in the format you want, there's this very good program I like to use; it's called iSquint. There's also another one called Visual Hub. This is a demo. Um, you can also get a demo of Visual Hub, but it'll only do the first two minutes of the video. But this is good enough for me.

You can optimize it for TV or iPod, and with Visual Hub, you can optimize it in any format you want, but MP4 and um, MOV are good formats for me. You can also make the quality better; you can add it to iTunes, and you can have some advanced options, but I don't really need those.

So now, I'm just going to drag that in there, say start, and this does it very quickly. So it's just going to take several seconds. It'll make the same file on my desktop or wherever it was, but it will say MP4 after the name of the thing. Now when it's done, it'll say you can buy Visual Hub, or you can just deal with the demo. I'll just deal with the demo.

Now you can get out of that, can delete the "Get Video" 'cause now you have it in a better format, and QuickTime can play it now. You can upload it to YouTube.

Okay, so um, there you go. As you can see, the quality is a bit worse 'cause I didn't say keep it in good quality, but um, that's good enough quality for me. Hope so, there we go. I'm, I don't really need that. I hope this video helped you; if it didn't, then um, too bad. Um, please subscribe. Um, hope you enjoy the content of our videos, and have a nice day. Goodbye.
