И как вы думаете, может ли ваше имя влиять на вас? Например, на вашу внешность. В одном из тестов дети и взрослые пытались сопоставить фотографии лиц с именами людей, изображённых на этих фотографиях. Когда на фотографиях были взрослые, испытуемым удавалось угадать имена людей на фотографиях правильно значительно чаще, чем при тыканье наугад.

Если же на фото были дети, то результат уже был на уровне случайного угадывания. Исследователи выдвигают гипотезу о том, что наше лицо меняется, подстраиваясь под ожидания общества, под социальную метку данного в детстве имени. Эффект по сути можно назвать самосбывающееся пророчество. Звучит, конечно, как фантастика, и непонятно, как это вообще работает, например, на уровне эпигенетики.

Но несмотря на это и на то, что эффект был всё-таки не очень значительным, это исследование позволяет задуматься: а как сильно на нас влияет общество и социальные ожидания? А замечали ли вы внешнее сходство с вашими тёзками или, может быть, у вас настолько уникальное имя, что вы вообще ни на кого не похожи?
