Cave Diver vs. Tricky Maya Elves | Campfire Stories
I work in lots of sonatas in caves. The North day is basically a flooded cave, and I by myself, and I hear this lation. Whose it was there, and nobody answer? And then I heard a splash again, and I even have waves. I swear I have waves, the words: what's going on?
So, well, maybe an animal, a big animal, like a crocodile. Nothing was there, and on the third splash, I could just not explain what was happening. In the Maya, helpers that we have on the surface, they say, "Well, do you got scared by the Aleutians?" They are like elves, little persons that sometimes play tricks.
And so, this is why it's important to have them happy. I learned that the way to have them happy is by giving them cigarettes and liquor. So we do that every time we go in a cave. And I forget to take the cigarettes and liquor once, and I get the splash again. I don't know what happened.
I am a scientist, but sometimes there's things that go beyond our explanation. What do you do if, like for example, you wake up one morning and a fly has laid a bunch of eggs in your eyeball, and there's maggots growing from them?
