Blade spring and all, it's the time to get prepared for the upcoming winter. You just can't run down to the hardware store and get what you need; you have to go out and work for it physically, and it takes a lot of time.

Eighteen-year resident Tim Curley Leach is taking advantage of the spring season in order to make a long overdue change to an old friend. "Today I'm gonna tear the bed off my truck because it's all rotted out. I want to haul firewood anymore, then put a new flatbed on it so I can get back to hauling wood." Without Curley's truck, many residents who rely on Curley for firewood will be in for a long cold winter.

"That's all we need from that beer, right? Just those. Yep, pretty big project for one person, you know. It's hard to do by yourself, so I've got a friend of mine—Mike is his name. He's a hard worker and he's willing to give me a helping hand. We're gonna get this whipped out as fast as we can."

"There we go, we're loaded! Every challenge is different out here; no challenge is the same. You know, you gotta make things happen, get her done. It's just a lot of work to get stuff moved from point A to point D. There's nothing easy that comes with the territory of living out here."

"What are you looking for now? It's just a piece of metal that I used to—I gotta get up under here right down. I'll have to get the door open and I usually leave it laying down here. Then I think it with me. Minutes? I can't get inside the truck because this is all fouled up, broken. I broke it when it was freezing out. I need to find something to get up in there and pry down on it to open my door."

"Don't find something... holy done, some spiders! This might work—it's a small pair of side cutters. Let's see if I can get up under there. We'll wrap neck ingenuity and go get that little—get it down!"
