Constructing a Reed Boat | The Great Human Race
A ton of energy goes into making this boat. All these reeds have to be cut, collected, carried, transported to here. All the cordage has been made, and now we have to take it and actually make the boat.
All right, so I live here, and here, and you're doing there. There, we're going to wrap each bundle with the cord that we've made. If the cord breaks, then not come undone, or we tie the wrong knot, our boat will sink.
All right, let me just do this. We're gonna slide these out maybe and go in the other way because all of them are just facing one way. Sure, but they need to be all these some of these out too. Like, I mean, already tight.
Yeah, hold on! Time out, time out! We had these all distributed. They're all the same size, and you start taking out and turn them around. I gave me this thing about—wait, we don't turn anymore! But we just wait; it's about mass, okay? It's about size.
All right, so this got it. So let's put it back. I think what I'm doing is fine. I think it'll work. I do. It's intense because we're nervous; we don't know if this is going to work. If we don't succeed, then Bill and I are stuck here.
