View Source Code Of Any Web Site
Mack heads on A1 here today. This is a little video on how to view the source code of any website. Now, you probably already know how to do this, but a bunch of people don't know how. So, uh, first of all, there are two ways that I'm gonna show you how to do this.
First, this is Safari. So, you open up Safari and you go to the website you want to read the source code of. Google.com is a pretty advanced site, actually. So, now we want to view the source code of this website. We can get to "View Source," and this will, um, have all the source code. So, this is all Google source code for their website; that's pretty great.
But there are flaws to that. There are some websites where if you go to the website, that website immediately closes or opens a pop-up or does something so that you don't have a chance in your browser to go to "View Source." That's why we've made a second way to do this.
We've written a program that's pretty simple on your Mac that, um, only runs on Leopard, I might add, that allows you to view the source code of any website. You should come out with an application like this for the iPhone pretty soon.
So, we can open up "View Source," which is something we've made. You can download it in the description of this video, and then you take the address of the website you want to view the source code for. I'll just take google.com. Then you have to click "View Source." You cannot not hit enter; you have to click "View Source."
Right here, a window will come up with all their source code. I won't point out that there's no scroll bars on this one. No, so what you have to do is click somewhere and then use the arrow keys to go down. I'm pressing the down arrow key and I'll hold it down, and you can go down.
So, you can also press Apple-C to copy the source code, then go into TextEdit, and here's Google source code. So, this is a simple program we've designed that lets you view the source code. So, this is pretty cool; we hope you like it.
So, thank you for watching. Mack heads on, subscribe, and goodbye!
