Это самый мощный магнит на свете: он притягивает к себе предметы, генерирует электрический ток. Вы это видели? Заставляет немагнитные объекты парить в воздухе и творит непотребство со съёмочным оборудованием.

Для сравнения, магнитное поле Земли — 0,005 Тесла, магнитик у вас на холодильнике — около 0. В аппаратах МРТ индукция доходит до 3 Тесла, а этот магнит способен создать электромагнитное поле до 45 Тесла, то есть примерно в миллион раз мощнее, чем у нашей планеты.

Это позволяет добиться конструкция из внешнего сверхпроводящего резистивного электромагнита. Зачем нужны сразу оба? Скоро объясню. Весь аппарат высоту занимает около двух этажей.

Но самое сильное магнитное поле возникает в центре узкого цилиндрического канала, который проходит через его середину. Он же сейчас выключен, сейчас не магнитит. Можно туда палец засунуть, или лучше не стоит.
