Number 10: Yves Saint Laurent, brand worth 3.3 billion dollars. A French luxury brand founded by Yves Saint Laurent and his partner Pierre Bouchet, this company has done amazingly well. It might be number 10 on this list, but it's certainly not the lowest in quality by any stretch of the imagination. The brand is well-known for its trendy and modern style fashion. It's a combination of both male and female accessories and is somewhat still one of the world's favorites. Not only showcasing its amazing tuxedos and suits, but Yves Saint Laurent also has a high-end quality fragrance line with some of the top celebrities, like Zoe Kravitz, featured in their high-priced commercials.
Number 9: Christian Dior, brand worth 3.6 billion dollars. Also known as Dior, this brand is a beauty among the fragrance world with some of the most beautiful perfumes and colognes at some of the most high-end prices. This brand has set the world by storm. Christian Dior is the genius behind Dior and provides men and women with luxurious scents. Founded in 1948 and taken over in the 1980s by Bernard Arnault, he is now the face behind the chairing and controlling of the brand's income and outgoings. Although the company is heavily female-focused, there is also Dior Homme for males and Baby Dior, which is now being introduced worldwide. It's time for all generations to feel extra special.
Number 8: Prada, brand worth 3.9 billion dollars. An Italian luxury fashion brand, and one that people love to show off in all ways and all means. Topping their range is their beautiful selection of handbags that women and men all around the world go mad for. People will pay around twenty-six hundred dollars for one of these beauties, and that's not even a lot. Other accessories and travel items such as suitcases and sunglasses are also favorite sellers. The company was founded in the year 1913 by two brothers, Mario Prada and Martino. Beginning as a small Italian leather goods shop in Milan, they did not agree with females coming into the family business; therefore, women were banned from joining. Oh, how things have changed, with female buyers now being a huge benefit and percentage of the brand's income.
Number 7: Burberry, brand worth 4.5 billion dollars. Founded in London in 1856 by Thomas Burberry and initially focused on mainly outdoor wear and clothing, Burberry was the creator of one of the world's top fabrics, Gabardine. Gabardine was a fabric that was both breathable and waterproof, which meant that people could not only look good in the summer but all year round as well. In 2015, Burberry was ranked 73 in Interbrand's best global brand report, a significant moment for Burberry as Interbrand specializes in valuation strategy and analytics amongst brands nationwide. Definitely a massive achievement among some of the world's biggest competitors.
Number 6: Cartier, brand worth 7 billion dollars. Unlike some of the brands on this top 10 list, Cartier has performed fantastically to come out at number six, simply by selling jewelry and perfume alone. The French company was founded in 1847 by the Louis Cartier and remained in the family until 1964. Initially selling to royalty, Cartier was referred to as the jeweler of kings and the king of jewelers. Edward VII amazingly ordered twenty-four tiaras from Cartier for his coronation in 1904. Fun fact: one of Cartier's most famous selling designed items is the mystery clock. This was the introduction of a watch that features a clock face with a transparent dial, meaning its mechanics are hidden. People went crazy over the watch, and it's still a favorite design worn many years later.

Number 5: Rolex, brand worth 8.7 million dollars. A private watch manufacturing company paired up with Tudor watches, Rolex is one of the top luxury brands in the world, being the largest high-end watch brand. It's no wonder that these watches appear on people's lists for birthdays all around the globe. Stylish, sleek, and unique, these designs are something of their own. Rolex is owned by the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation, a family-run trust, and moved its base to Geneva, Switzerland, in 1919. Some of the company's top innovators include the first waterproof wristwatch, the first wristwatch to show two different time zones, which launched in 1954, and the first watch to change both day and night independently in 1956. This brand has done incredibly well for themselves.
Number 4: Chanel, brand worth 10.3 billion dollars. Specializing in women's haute couture, accessories, and fragrances, this brand is one of the highest-ranking not only for females around the world but also globally. Chanel is a French company founded in 1909 by Gabrielle Coco Chanel. She opened up a hat and headwear shop at the bottom of a small flat in Paris. Some of Chanel's top selling products are the little black dress that every woman dies for and their beautiful scent, Chanel No. 5. The use of Jersey fabric in most of their products meant that these luxurious garments not only looked expensive but were affordable for their buyers.
Number 3: Gucci, brand worth 22.4 billion dollars. An Italian brand specializing in leather and fashion, Gucci is one of the top three brands in the world. In 2008, Gucci made 4.2 billion dollars, making it the highest selling Italian brand with around 300 stores worldwide. It's undoubtedly one of the most recognized and popular brands on the top 10 list. In 1920, an immigrant hotel worker Giovanni Gucci took over the company and gave it to his three sons Aldo, Vasco, and Rodolfo, who expanded out to Milan and Rome. One of Gucci's most impressive factors was their use of the internet. When internet shopping became more popular, they posted videos of behind the scenes when making certain items and included large images and step-by-step guides to show how much care goes into their products.
Number 2: Hermes, brand worth 28 billion dollars. Established in 1837 and in at number two on the top 10 list, Hermes is one of the top luxury brands in the world. Hermes specializes in a wide variety of homeware, leather products, perfumes, jewelry, watches, and lifestyle accessories. After its peak in 1970, the brand had a massive decline after competitors were coming onto the market stronger. It was in 1978 when Jean-Louis Dumas, the son of founder Robert Thomas Hermes, decided to look into silk and leather goods made with only natural techniques. The plan worked, and from 1980, the main focus of the brand was to sell tableware, which expanded to over 30,000 pieces. Then, in 2003, it was the well-known Jean Paul Gaultier that took over Hermes and introduced his new ready-to-wear clothing collection in 2005—a chance for the brand to thrive with both homeware and clothing.
Number 1: Louis Vuitton, brand worth 41.1 billion dollars. At number one, it's the one and only Louis Vuitton, shortened to a simple LV. If you haven't heard of this brand, then you probably have not lived a life that dips into fashion and glam, because it is so popular. The LV labeling appears on every single one of Louis Vuitton's products, making each item a top 10 statement. The company reportedly operates in over 50 countries with over 465 stores worldwide. Pretty incredible, right? Originally founded in France in 1854, this brand has grown dramatically, now incorporating leather into most of its designs and products. We thought it is one of the world's most sleek, fashionable, and luxurious brands ever, with some of the highest-priced goods available.
