15 Pieces Of Advice Only Weak People Give You
Hello elixirs and welcome back.
At some point in life, we all need advice to solve one problem or the other, and we might need it for us to take a bold step, probably on our career path or things that mean more to us. In today's video, we'll be checking out 15 pieces of advice that only weak people will give you. You need to pay attention to those pieces of advice given to you by the feeble; however, you might discard them if you know they won't work for you in your present situation.
Welcome to Alux! Let's get started, and make sure you stick around.
Number one: "Don't worry about what other people think about you." To go far in life, what other people think and say about you matters. People who give you such advice don't want you to embrace change. Criticism can help you progress if you don't take it to heart. Besides, constructive criticisms are good for your growth. Are you going to ignore that too? We are not saying you should consume all the pieces of advice thrown at you. Truly, some people don't mean good to you. But when two or more people are complaining about the same thing about you, you need to pay close attention to such a thing.
Number two: "Making money requires money." It is the same as saying you need money to make money. This statement is one of the numerous flimsy excuses people give for not making tons of money. When you next hear this, just know that the person hasn't exposed themselves to the present trends. You need a cool digital skill to make money now, not money. All you need is to dedicate some time to learning. After, put whatever you have learned into practice and develop a nice portfolio. This kind of advice is even worse for someone who can't handle sales. However, money is required to start a business or invest. But how do you intend to gather the money? The weak tend to use this statement to console themselves for not making enough money as they have wanted.
Number three: "Follow your passion." There is absolutely nothing wrong with following your passion, but you need to ask yourself some questions and answer them sincerely. Will my passion take care of my bills? Can I have the life I've always dreamed of with my passion? You can keep the answers to yourself if you like. This kind of philosophy doesn't exist in the real world. If your passion doesn't pay well, you need to drop it for other profitable ventures. However, you can pursue your passion once you get that big shot and you've secured the future, at least to a reasonable extent.
Number four: "Be yourself." People tell you this to make you feel safe, even though you are doing the wrong thing. You can't be yourself when what you are doing is unacceptable. The truth is you have to do more because there's no limit to what you can be. Sometimes, this phrase is used to tell you not to copy others. Yes, you don't have to copy other people's way. Also, you shouldn't be envious of their successes and accomplishments, but you can take that as motivation and strive to better yourself. Being yourself is not enough when you can do far better.
Number five: "Work hard." Achieving greatness in life requires more than hard work. Weak-minded people limit being successful to hard work alone. In reality, a hard worker might still suffer and be deprived of success. Hard work isn't all it takes to be great. If hard work is the determinant of success, what happens to minors and janitors who work all day? We're not saying this to belittle them in any way, but you have to be smart with what you do, and that's where smart work comes in. You only need leverage on what works.
Number six: "What will be will be." This is another brainwashing excuse that can hold you down for a long time. You don't need to allow things to happen; make things happen yourself. Whatever it is that you desire, go for it. The little actions we take today matter in the future. Barack Obama becoming an American president didn't happen overnight; he prepared and worked for it. It's not rocket science. You have to wake up and stop expecting miracles. Some weak people will console you with this statement, but don't get it twisted. Man up, stay strong, and go make an impact.
Number seven: "Time heals everything." How is this what you'll say to someone battling depression? Solving problems requires action. The problem won't solve itself; that's why you need deliberate actions to tackle any obstacles that come your way. Some wounds also get severe with time. Act when necessary. If you're faced with critical challenges, make sure you seek professional help. Doing things in accordance is strength and wisdom, not living on false hope.
Number eight: "Good things come, but you have to be patient." Like that general saying, "Good things come to those who wait." Really? Do you have to wait until your dream girl walks down the aisle with another man? Sorry to burst your bubbles; good things might not come to you for being patient alone. You need to take the necessary steps; you have to attract it. Doing this is a no-brainer. You simply position yourself for it. Whatever good you desire will not move an inch to get closer to you. It is left to you to be the version that will attract the good thing.
Number nine: "Avoid problems." Avoiding problems is a mediocre way, and that won't make you any better. You'll miss out on many cherishable experiences that come with solving problems. If you want to be great, you will look for problems. You research to know more about a problem, then you find a lasting solution to it. You need to know that problems won't disappear because you avoid them. The only time you crush a problem is when you face it. All the great people you know, the names of offhand, have solved some significant problems at some point in their lives. Only the weak avoid challenges and advise the same.
Number ten: "Money is not everything." Really? Here is another short consolation message which broke people employ to stay happy and satisfied with their condition. This would have been a different argument if this statement came from the rich or someone who has tasted power. Don't be deceived; money means a lot. You need it to do virtually everything. It makes you stay relevant and wiser; it makes life easier. Making tons of millions of dollars weekly will make you discard reasoning like this because not having money limits you to a myriad of things, so you have to liberate yourself from saying this.
Number eleven: "Seek validation." Seeking validation comes as a result of inadequacy from within. You need nobody's validation to do whatever you want to do. No one thing for sure: not everybody shares the same view as you. If you're always ready to take responsibility and face the consequences of your actions, you'll realize that seeking validation from others is baseless. In your craft, you might feel you need validation from others to progress or know where to improve; this is not true. You need two kinds of people: the first is an accountability partner and the second could be a mentor. Craving others' validation portrays you as weak.
Number twelve: "Switch when it's not working for you." This advice doesn't work all the time. Most of the time, you don't get what you want easily. It's truly hard work, persistence, and dedication when success comes. So, if you have to keep switching when things don't work according to plan, how do you expect to have a breakthrough? You must have heard the story of Thomas Edison, who produced an electric light bulb. He made several attempts and failed without considering switching to another project. When he made the breakthrough, he said, "I have not failed; I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." Many great people became successful because they stuck to one goal until they actualized it.
Number thirteen: "Choose the easy path." Yes, that's very typical of a weak man; they choose easy paths and their lives become difficult. It's part of human nature to always go for the easy option, so anything easy attracts multitudes. When a lot of people pursue a cause, the cause tends to lose value. On the contrary, hard paths always have few people treading them, and that will increase the chances of progress and success. When you tell people to focus on a profitable skill that can give them financial freedom, they consider it hard, but settling for jobs that pay them a few bucks is cool.
Number fourteen: "Play it safe." You can't continue to play it safe if you want to make a change in life. Everything will always be risky; in fact, playing safe could be risky as well. We're not saying you should dare anything and everything, but when you truly want something, go for it and make sure you're taking calculated risks. Always try to weigh your chances and think about if it goes right. Remove negativity from your heart. The consequence of not taking risks is regret. Think about those associates of Mark Zuckerberg who didn't buy into his ideas when he wanted to start Facebook. If they had invested then, they would be billionaires today.
Number fifteen: "Wait for the perfect time." What a nice procrastinating idea! However, waiting for the perfect time is a delusion; it doesn't exist. If that's what's keeping you away from doing what can better your life, you're likely not going to do it. Nothing will change for you if you don't make the change. You should start now. You'll make mistakes and learn from them, then you keep growing after that because tomorrow isn't promised, and you can't predict what will happen in the next hour. Get whatever you desire now, or make a step. At least you won't regret attempting, but you might regret not trying at all.
And lastly, as a thank you for staying tuned until the end, we have a bonus for you.
Number sixteen: "Follow your dreams, and the money will come." How much do you have in your bank account? Guess it's a couple of million dollars. When you have a huge amount like that, you can consider this advice. Following your dream doesn't guarantee you any money in any way. What works for you does also. You can consider this advice when you are earning sustenance from your passion. Life isn't exactly how it's presented in the movies, and if you listen to motivational podcasts, you have to be smart about following your passion, as most speakers skip what happened behind the scenes and only emphasize the result.
Thank you.
