Snagging a Stag | Primal Survivor
These Sami reindeer are semi. While they have sharp antlers, a swift kick, and can pull a 250-pound load with ease, it takes a lot of strength and skill to pull in a reindeer without injuring yourself or the animal. I've managed to separate this stag from the herd. Now for the hard part: large male reindeer can weigh as much as 700 pounds and sport antlers four feet long.
Ok, I gotta catch this male. Nah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm surprised myself by snagging the stag in one go, but that's just the first step. Next, I need to get it fully under control. This is a very, very dangerous animal, so I had this big guy by his antlers, which is one way to control it. But I have to make sure that I keep these antlers right onto the ground because when these flare around, these go right through eyes, and these horns go right through your guts. This animal could easily kill me.
Reindeer herding is one of the most dangerous jobs in Scandinavia, and mortality rates are doubled that of any other farmers. Now that I'm staying calm—staying calm—none of us want to get hurt. I've got him under control, but I can't afford to relax. I'll make sure that I only wrap this around my hand once because if this guy decides to take off, this thing gets tangled in my arm; he could easily tear my arm off.
There you go. Okay, come on.
