Как вы думаете, умеют ли пиявки прыгать? Оказывается, этот вопрос веками обсуждали зоологи. Теперь же у нас есть видео прямо с Мадагаскара.

На них пиявки, кто наб дел, факс явно прыгают и просто падают с листа. Их не сдувает ветром, их не стряхивает мимо идущий человек. Пиявка присасывается к листу одним концом тела и сгибается назад, и выбрасывает тело вперёд.

Это не просто падение, это настоящие прыжки, причём довольно привычные для пиявок. Они делали по нескольку раз подряд. Зачем они прыгают? Пока неизвестно. Это может быть способом сбежать от опасности, поймать добычу или просто быть обычным перемещением.

Вообще, многие безногие и беспозвоночные умеют прыгать. Это некоторые личинки мух и клещей, некоторые гусеницы. Нематоды так вообще используют электрические поля для своего перемещения.

Ну а теперь в споре зоолога однозначно выигрывают те, кто ставил на прыжки пиявок. Ну вот.
