Hey guys, this is Mac Heads 101, and if you have an iPhone, you'll probably know that ringtones for it are not that great. First off, you'll have to, um, buy all your music through iTunes, and only 5% of it you'll be able to make a ringtone out of. It has to have this little bell icon, and then you can click on it, and then you can make a ringtone out of it. And then, you have to buy it for 9 cents, the ringtone that you made.

You're not a professional ringtone maker, and you can't put effects into it or anything like that. It's not that great. So I'm gonna be showing you how to get ringtones for free. Um, yeah, and you can do any song, any song in your iTunes library or any song at all. So first off, you're going to want to open GarageBand, create a new music project, and then you can just put it on your desktop or whatever you want to put it. You're not actually going to need the project, though, 'cause you import it to, um, iTunes right from here, and then you can, um, delete this track because you don't need it.

Okay, so now you just want to drag in a song. So I'm going to drag in "Party Like a Rockstar." You wait a little while for this song to load; it should be pretty quick. Then you can bring it to wherever you want. And so, um, when you notice when you first play the song, the first part, there's not that much action. And, um, so let's say I want to keep that in, move back to this line. Now press Apple T. Apple T splits the clip, and then you're just going to want to click on the one you don't want and then delete it.

And then you can, um, keep however much you want, like a rock, a rock. So, um, let's say I'll take that, and then, um, if I want it to loop, I can just, um, export it like this. Um, whatever you do, it has to be under 49 seconds. Um, I don't know if you want your phone to ring for 49 seconds, but your maximum ringtone length can be 49 seconds. But, um, usually, you should just make it short. And then you should let it loop.

If you want one thing to loop, you don't want to just copy it and then paste it. What you want to do is just do it like this, and it'll do it automatically. If you want to make sure that loop is on loop, to do that you just, um, click on that, and you drag that to wherever you want it to loop, so the end of the song.

And you can add effects to it. You can, um, here, there's a whole bunch of stuff; like you can say, "What a guitar," and then you can say "rock," and you can say "dark," and it'll give you some sample beats. If you like them, you can just drag them in, and you can put it over whatever you want. And, yeah, so, um, or you can just drag in your songs, and once you do, you're done.

You go share, send ringtone to iTunes, and it'll just, I'll do it; it'll be really cool. And, um, then, um, your artist and your, um, album, you're not, you'll be able to change, but the name of the song you're not going to be able to change. It's going to be whatever you saved it as.

And so, um, yeah, so, um, you should name it something good, but, um, you're not going to see artist in album; it's, it’s because it'll be under ringtones. So, um, that's how you make a custom ringtone. I hope this helps in case, um, some of you don't get your music through iTunes or something like that. If you like our content, please subscribe. Thank you for watching, and hope you have a nice day. Goodbye...
