Юджин Паркер — крупнейший специалист в области физики Солнца. В пятидесятых годах он сделал два предсказания. Во-первых, он предсказал, что сейчас всем чуть ли не маленьким детям хорошо известны явления солнечного ветра.

Он сообразил, что Солнце должно выбрасывать быстрые тяжелые частицы: водородную, гелевую плазму, альфа-частицы, протоны, электроны. Они должны разгоняться магнитным полем и дальше происходит довольно сложный процесс ускорения. В результате чего эти частицы со сверхзвуковой скоростью вылетают в планетную среду и дальше распространяются по всей Солнечной системе.

Вот это предсказание сделал Паркер. А причем он не просто предсказал этот солнечный ветер, но и подробно описал его конфигурацию.
