The Moon Landing | Generation X

less than 1m read
·Nov 11, 2024

5 4 3 2 all engine running lift off. We have a liftoff. 32 minutes past the hour, liftoff on Apollo 11 and our young dreams liftoff with it. Mankind is going to the moon and technology is paving the way. A new horizon is in our future and for Generation X, the future is about to land.

Okay, engine stop. We copy it down. Eagle base here, the eagle has landed. I was 8 years old when they landed on the moon. My father dragged me out of bed. I'd had no leadup to it, so I didn't know what was going on. You know, it's like static and snow on the screen and scratchy sound, and the broadcasters are trying to tell us what's happening, but they don't know what's happening.

If he's testing that first step, he must be stepping down on the moon at this point. Suddenly, this picture is on the screen, and it looked so sterile. It seemed so spooky and scary, and my dad's like, "They're on the moon! They're on the moon!" And I'm like watching his lips going, "What is he saying? They're on the moon?"

For young Gen X, it's not a dream; it's our new reality. The promises of technology have gotten us off our planet.

You know, monkey has been able to control the computer with his brain. Just yeah, so your brain is composed of neurons. Neurons connect together and form a network that can talk to each other through synapses. They’re the connection points between neurons…

Calorimetry refers to the measurement of heat flow, and a device that’s used to measure heat flow is called a calorimeter. An easy way to make a calorimeter is to use two coffee cups. So at the base here, we have one coffee cup, and then we can also use a…
Polynomial special products: perfect square | Algebra 2 | Khan Academy
What we’re going to do in this video is practice squaring binomials. This is something that we’ve done in the past, but we’re going to do it with slightly more involved expressions. But let’s just start with a little bit of review. If I were to ask you, w…
Using explicit formulas of geometric sequences | Mathematics I | High School Math | Khan Academy
The geometric sequence Asobi is defined by the formula, and so they say they tell us that the E term is going to be equal to 3 * -1⁄4 to the IUS 1 power. So, given that, what is a sub5, the fifth term in the sequence? So pause the video and try to figur…
