First Week of Medical School VLOG *in person*

Wow [Music] I don't have a friend. Good morning, guys! It's me, Jody. Today is the first day of med school. I can't even speak. Today is the first day of med school. I just woke up, as you can probably tell. I'm currently at a hotel because I couldn't find any apartment that is near to my school, so I'm going to stay at a hotel for a week.

I just woke up; my voice is gone. I'm gonna take a shower. I'm gonna get ready for med school. Let's go! Sorry for my real weird lighting, but I'm gonna do a little bit of makeup. To be honest, I don't really care that much, but at the same time, I want to give like a very good first impression because first impressions are really like important. If your first impression is good, no matter what type of like outfit you wear, like some saggy pants and sweaters and stuff, if your first impression is good, people think that you're like well put together. At least I think in that way, so nothing fancy—it's like a very, very little makeup.

[Music] So we're gonna have a breakfast. Unfortunately, breakfast is not included to your stay, so we gotta go outside and have breakfast. And from there, I think I'll head to the uni. Am I excited? No, I say what! [Music] The beautiful signs of our stories. [Music] We knew. [Music]

Okay, so I'm currently in a toilet right now, and we had our first lecture that was like about introduction about the assessments and how all the lectures will be done. And I'm currently in a toilet because I think it's like kind of really weird to vlog during the lecture halls, like in the lecture hall. So I decided to just like get out of the toilet. I hope you can hear me.

Anyways, we're gonna have like another lecture about the education system, and yeah, I'll go back to the lecture hall. Do I want it? No, but am I gonna do it? Yes! So basically, my med school is over, and now we came to a cafe to eat something. I'm pretty hungry. When I go back to the hotel, I'm going to explain what we did. It wasn't really exciting to dance. [Music]

Okay, so we got out of the cafe, but I didn't really like the taste of it, so I didn't film myself eating it. So we came to here; it was around a 15-minute ride on the bus. And for like eating just a not-so-good croissant and also like a cake, I think it's just like a little bit sad for me. We are planning to go to the supermarket, and I'm planning to buy some nuts, maybe almonds. And from there, you will probably eat a hamburger because I'm kind of hungry. [Music]

So [Music] so [Music] [Music] all I think about it. [Music] So the first day is over, and since I'm staying at a hotel, we ate our dinner outside.

Anyways, like today was really empty. We didn't do anything. They just introduced the school to us and what we're gonna do this year and all that stuff. And also, we just talked a little bit about what it's like to be a med student—like what is medicine and all this stuff. So I didn't learn anything today, and I don't have any assignments or something. And tomorrow I have lectures from 11 a.m. It was actually normally supposed to start from like 8:30 a.m. until 5:20 p.m., but in the first week, we have like a very, very relaxed schedule.

I’ll just like live here 10:30ish. The hotel itself is pretty near to my school, so that's good. So what I'm feeling? I'm not feeling anything, to be honest. And one of my kindergarten friends transferred to our uni, so we're just gonna hang out tomorrow. I'm happy that I have a friend at least. Oh, he's pretty alone as well, so it's good. See you tomorrow. Good night.

Hi, guys! This is the second day. It's currently 9:10 a.m. I gotta leave here in about an hour or so. I think I'm gonna do my makeup today. I'm a little bit puffy. I'm currently on my period, and my tummy hurts. I actually slept for like more than eight hours—probably nine hours—but I'm still pretty tired. Maybe it's because I'm on my period, so I'm gonna take a supplement—multivitamin and also iron. Iron is good when you're on your period because during your period, iron deficiencies are a pretty common thing.

So yeah, take your iron vitamins. I'm gonna do my makeup, take my supplements, chill a bit, and then leave and go to uni. [Music] [Music] Each of us [Music] than yesterday. Every day I love you better. Today than yesterday, every day. [Music] [Music] The second day is over! We went to a super yummy restaurant. Yesterday was a blast!

So today was really, really delicious. I really loved it. I'm pretty full right now. I think I'm going to take a shower and then sleep because tomorrow at 6:00 a.m., I have a meeting with a sponsorship, so I gotta wake up pretty early tomorrow. So I need to go to bed early. I haven't made a friend yet, which is okay. I don't know if I can make friends though. Like, you know, I have my kindergarten friend, but he's in second grade, and I'm in the first grade because I took a gap year, so it doesn't really help. I mean, we eat lunch together, but you know, during the lectures, it would be nice if I had someone to hang out with.

So yeah, anyways, today I met with a couple of people, but I forgot their names. I'm pretty bad at names, so yeah, day two—I don't have a friend. [Music] [Applause] [Music] I love you better day [Music] are [Music] okay [Music] [Music] [Music] yes, I know all I did this week was to explore good food and eat some like yummy delicious food. But I'm sorry, the first week was so, so like chill and we did nothing.

But next week is gonna be probably much busier than this week, and I'll probably need to be more productive. If you were expecting a super productive vlog, I'm sorry for you, but I can serve that content next week. So let me just like have my yummy food and chill, you know, because these times will never come back. [Music] [Music] Without you, I swear I’m lost without you. All I think about it.

Oh, I hit my eye, and oh it hurts so much. So our professor didn't come, so I have like two hours of blank lecture. So I hopped on a bus and I came to Ukadako, and I guess I'm gonna grab a coffee and chill a bit, maybe read some books, and then I'll go back to uni. Well, today we have a lot of blank lectures, which is pretty usual for a first-year medical student. And since it's the first week, it's not well organized yet, but I hope it will be better in the next week or in the next couple of weeks, I guess.

Yeah, that's it. That's what I'm doing right now. All they're trying to do is drink energy. Now it's time to recall. I know they piss you off, got you hot. I'm loving how you play it like it's cool. Ever since you elevated, now they're saying you be acting brand new. You ain't gotta worry about it, hit my lineup, girl, you know I'm coming through. You know they say don't wear the jungle, feeling like an animal's on the loose. Let me be a stress reliever, baby. I can't wait to put my paws on you. I can't believe what anybody tells me—tired of that drama, misery, and jealousy.

[Music] When ordering your Turkish coffee, they will ask you how much sugar you want. You have like four options: no sugar, low sugar, medium, and high sugar. I always order my Turkish coffee with low sugar. I used to drink my Turkish coffee without any sugar, but since it has a very bitter taste, I think it's nice to add a little bit of sugar. Normally, I drink my coffee without sugar but with milk, but you know, Turkish coffee is a little bit different.

Yeah, anyways, my med school, the first week was like this. I forgot to film my Friday. I'm such a bad vlogger, to be honest. I think I'm trying to get used to vlog in uni because everybody stares at me, and I kind of feel embarrassed. So I think I'll get used to it. And also, we didn't learn anything this week. This week was sort of just an introduction and saying hello to students and, you know, getting used to it, and getting to know it. But next week will probably be more productive, and I can show you the lectures and the school, and I can just show a real med student life. This week was just a, you know, chill week that I really enjoyed. I wish it was like this every single week.

I hope you guys enjoyed this vlog. I tried a new style filming this vlog—not really talking but like adding some subs to it. And let me know in the comments down below if you like my voiceovers more or subs style. Yeah, that's it for this video. See you guys next time. Bye [Music] you.
